Colm Quinn's IFTA nominated short film No Regrets in the West has been selected for this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival. It will press screen on the 24th and be shown publicly on the 26th and 27th in Filmhouse 2 at 17.30 and 19.45 respectively. The film will also play the Message to Man Film Festival in St. Petersburg - Russia, which runs from the 15th to the 22nd of June

No Regrets in the West has been nominated in the category of Best Short Film at the 5th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards. It has also been included on a “Cork Film Festival Presents” DVD along with The Discreet Charms of the Refugee to be distributed at the upcoming Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market.

A Special Mention in the Claire Lynch Award for Best First Time Director went to Colm Quinn's The Discreet Charms of the Refugee at the recent Cork Film Festival. Commissioned to shoot another Capital D segment for RTE. The segment which features Sound Cellar and Freebird Records will broadcast on the 13th of September.

Jinn and No Regrets in the West have been nominated for Best Short Documentary, while The Discreet Charms of the Refugee has also been nominated for Best Irish Short at the Galway Film Fleadh 2007. The Galway Fleadh takes place 10th - 15th July.

Anthony Murphy and Richard Moore featured in the documentary The Cygnus Enigma directed by Aidan Maguire have released their book 'The Island of the Setting Sun' focusing on the subject of prehistoric monuments and astronomy. Footage from the film was used on RTE television to promote the publication.

November 2006
Break Away, a documentary on the subject of children living with injuries incurred from land mines, has been short-listed for the UNICEF award at the Barcelona International Television Festival. The film has also played in Galway, Kerry, Thessalonika, and Bodrum Film Festivals.

October 2006
The Stranger than Fiction Documentary Film Festival in the Irish Film Institute awarded second place in the cobra shorts competition to Jinn. The film focuses on the subject of East African superstition. Following the theft of all equipment and footage associated with the production from a Nairobi apartment, Last Light would like to thank the anonymous individual that posted all our stock to Ireland, allowing us to complete our work!
